There are so many more places in OBX that will appreciate our business and our money.

I will not be taking my family here in the future. I didn’t want the food to go back into the kitchen, so I just had her bring me a box. I told her no, according to our waitress, you aren’t allowed. The girl was very nice and said, oh, I can wrap up your takeout order for you. I asked for a box to wrap up my takeout chicken sandwich. Our meals were delivered to the table by someone else. I said ok, ordered it with our other meals that we were eating there. I was told that we have to order the meal, have it brought to our table and then I can ask for a box to wrap it up myself. I asked if I could order a chicken sandwich as a takeout order. She wasn’t very friendly and treated us as though we were bothering her by being there. The waitress for our table was apparently the bartender also. I guess they don’t drain the beans when putting them on the plate. No big deal, we ordered Mahi mahi, burgers, and Nachos. They used to have amazing cheese steak egg rolls. We would eat here every year for the the past 8 years. We ate at Striper’s Bar and Grill in Manteo on Friday, June 24th. The Blue Water Grill is very close and far better.

In summary, there are too many nearby better restaurants for me to ever go back to this one. Couldn’t ever find the side dishes on the menu so I have no idea if the up charge is written anywhere. So, this member of our party had to sit and watch everyone else eat and then is served a poor replacement, and gets a 50% discount? Mgmt needs a lesson in customer service.īe warned, some of the side items have an up charge, which the waitress failed to mention when she was suggesting them. Somehow they decided it warranted a 50% discount on that entrée. Complained to the waitress, who had never come back to ask if it was okay, when we were done, and she said she would talk to the manager. Further, it was way overdone and over half of it was too hard and crusty to eat.

Well, the rest of us were done with our meals by the time the replacement was brought. The waitress took it away and promised a replacement quickly. One was a thicker filet that wasn’t even close to done… still pink raw meat inside.

One was a thin filet, skin still on, and overcooked around the edges. The 2 of us who ordered the fish of the day (snapper) this way were sorely disappointed. This restaurant is NOT good at broiling/baking fish. Those who got fried fish were happy with their food. In general, I would recommend that if you want a decent seafood meal at this restaurant, you need to go with the fried options. Our group of 6 each ordered something different. We were waited on fairly quickly by a not too enthusiastic server. We get upstairs, and find it’s not even half full…. Debated and almost left for somewhere else, and then another employee told us they did have a table for us upstairs.

Asked to be moved upstairs and were told it was full and the tables up there hadn’t even gotten their food yet. We were seated in the first floor side room next to the bar area with the band and couldn’t even hear ourselves talk. Could have been cool, but the downstairs of this restaurant is entirely too small to host a. Saturday night, and we get to the restaurant to find they have live music going. In town for a fishing trip and wanted to eat some good seafood.
